Android HIFI app transforms your Android device into an Airplay receiver

While some consumers might feel that Apple and Android devices should never mix, there is actually quite a few of us out there that do. Unfortunately, Apple makes it hard to play nice with their products by using proprietary formats such as the streaming protocol AirPlay.
If you’ve dreamed of streaming video and audio from your Apple device to your Android phone or tablet, the new Android HIFI app offers an easy solution. The new app was created by an XDA Developers member and turns your Android devices into Airplay receivers.
The app is pretty basic and only allows streaming from a single source at the moment. HIFI doesn’t work for those with Airplay speaker docs or car stereo systems either. While it does have some limitations, it is certainly a good start and likely to improve with time and further development.
Best of all, the app is totally free and available now through Google Play.
