The new Total Recall will hit theaters next week, and along with it, the now customary mobile game tie-in. However, for some reason, the mobile game has hit the app stores early. Developed by Jump Games, Total Recall for Android and iOS arrived today for $0.99, promising “non-stop adrenaline-pumping action” and an “unique look and feel inspired directly by the movie”.
Total Recall for Android is a first person rail shooter that closely follows the story line of the upcoming Total Recall. You’ll be playing as Douglas Quaid, and your mission is nothing less than to discover the “ultimate truth”, hidden somewhere at the core of the Earth. The fate of the world hangs in the balance, but no pressure…
In the process, you’ll get to eliminate your adversaries with a variety of weapons, including a “rapid-fire Gatlin LMG” and Rhino, a “one-shot kill handgun”. Yeah, pretty much everything a man needs when looking for the ultimate truth, right?
The game spans eight missions, but seven more are promised by the developers. Between the missions, the story will be supported by comic-book like scenes. However, some reviewers have commented that the story could use a little brush up. Other aspects that apparently leave to be wanted are the controls and the gameplay.
